How to calculate your attendance percentage

Attendance percentage is (classes attended ÷ total classes held) × 100. Attend 45 out of 60 classes and you're at 75%. The calculator above applies this to every subject at once and updates the moment you change a number, so you never have to work it out by hand.

How many classes can you safely miss?

Your percentage drops every time a class is held and you are absent. The "Can safely miss" number is the largest count of upcoming classes you can skip while still staying at or above your target. It shrinks as the semester goes on, so check it after each class rather than calculating it once at the start.

Setting a 75% or 80% target

75% is the default because it is the minimum most colleges and universities require for exam eligibility. Some courses need 80% or 85%. Change the "Target attendance" dropdown and every subject re-evaluates against the new cutoff instantly — no need to reset your numbers.

FAQ

Can I use this as a monthly attendance calculator?

Yes. Just update the "Present" and "Total" numbers for each subject at the end of every month (or after every class) and the percentage recalculates instantly. Your data is saved automatically, so you can keep adding to the same running total all semester instead of restarting a monthly count from zero.

How do I use this as an 80% attendance calculator?

Set the "Target attendance" dropdown at the top of the calculator to 80%. Every subject will then show whether it's on track or below target against an 80% cutoff, along with exactly how many classes you can safely miss or need to attend to reach 80%.

How do I use this as a 75% attendance calculator?

75% is the default target, since it's the minimum most colleges and universities require. Enter how many classes you've attended and how many were held for each subject, and the calculator shows your percentage against the 75% cutoff along with how many classes you can miss while staying above it.

75 percent attendance calculator: how many days can I miss?

It depends on how many total classes have been held so far. Enter your present and total counts and the calculator works out the exact number for you under "Can safely miss" — this changes as your total class count grows, so check back after each class rather than calculating it once.

How do I calculate attendance percentage?

Attendance percentage is (classes attended ÷ total classes held) × 100. For example, attending 45 out of 60 classes held gives (45 ÷ 60) × 100 = 75%. This calculator applies that formula automatically for every subject and updates it live as you add classes.

Is this an attendance calculator app?

It works like one but doesn't require installing anything. CheckMyAttendance runs entirely in your browser, saves your subjects locally so they're there when you come back, and works the same on mobile or desktop — without an app store download or account.

What is the attendance calculator formula?

The core formula is: Attendance % = (Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes Held) × 100. To find how many classes you can safely miss while staying at or above a target percentage, the calculator solves for the largest n where Present ÷ (Total + n) ≥ Target ÷ 100 — and for how many you need to attend, the smallest n where (Present + n) ÷ (Total + n) ≥ Target ÷ 100.
