CheckMyAttendance

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 16, 2026

CheckMyAttendance ("we," "us," or "our") operates the attendance calculator available at checkmyattendance.com (the "Service"). This page explains what information the Service collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. We built this Service to need as little of your data as possible, and this policy reflects that.

1. Information we collect

Locally stored calculator data. The subjects, class counts, and target percentage you enter into the calculator are saved directly in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in with Google (see below). We do not receive or have access to it.

Google sign-in (optional). If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's name, email address, and profile identifier through Google's authentication service (Firebase Authentication). This is used solely to identify your account and sync your calculator data — the same subjects, counts, and target you'd otherwise store locally — to our database (Firebase Firestore) so it's available if you use the Service on another device.

Standard technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps — for security and reliability purposes.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Run the calculator and keep your subjects saved between visits.
  • Sync your data across devices if you sign in with Google.
  • Maintain the security and reliability of the Service.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the service providers named in this policy.

3. Cookies & local storage

The Service uses your browser's local storage to remember your calculator data and theme preference (light or dark). It does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication may set cookies necessary to keep you signed in.

4. Third-party services

We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) to provide optional sign-in and cross-device sync. Google's use of this data is governed byGoogle's Privacy Policy. Using the calculator without signing in does not send any data to Google or Firebase.

5. Data retention & deletion

Locally stored data stays on your device until you clear your browser's storage or uninstall the browser. If you signed in with Google and want your cloud-synced data deleted, email us at the address below and we'll remove it.

6. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for students of any age tracking their own attendance and does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what's described above. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through Google sign-in, contact us and we'll delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly.
